Switzerland being held to ransom by EU to teach Britain a lesson on Brexit...

Brussels chiefs want to make an example of Switzerland ahead of tough Brexit negotiations, an EU source said.

After Britain’s decision to leave the EU, Switzerland’s relationship with the bloc has become more strained.

Currently, Switzerland’s bilateral deals give the country access to EU markets including air and road traffic and agriculture.

But they need to decide by December how to apply its 2014 referendum result to curb immigration.

If Switzerland did not allow any freedom of movement, it could cut itself off from the EU with particularly brutal consequences on its financial services sector. Full story...
