5 cops thrash man to death in New Delhi...

The brutality of Delhi Police yet again came to the fore on Monday when five policemen abducted a 30-year-old man, took him to a secluded barrack and thrashed him to death. The brutal incident has been reported form Bindapur area in southwest Delhi.

The rogue cops, identified as head constable Bhoop Singh and constables, Rajesh, Sudeep, Uttam and Arvind, have been arrested. "The five accused policemen were arrested and charged with murder and abduction," said Dinesh Kumar Gupta, additional DCP, south west district.

The deceased, identified as Manoj Kumar, owned a travel agency in Uttam Nagar. Family members said Manoj was fond of boxing and would often participate in local matches. He was married a year ago and has a seven-month-old son. His wife had gone to meet her parents in Lucknow while he was staying with his parents at their Uttam Nagar house.

 Manoj was picked up by the cops around 10am in an investigation of celebratory firing during a wedding, which apparently happened a few days ago. Full story...
