A group of 54 foreign workers travelling to their places of work on a bus were stopped and assaulted by a group of about 150 people near Pandamaran Klang.
Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said the the incident occured in the afternoon on Sunday as the group believed the bus was taking the foreigners to go vote as phantom workers.
"This is a good example of the public taking matters into their own hands without getting all the information.
"The bus was actually taking the foreign workers to work at various locations in Jalan Banting, Pandamaran, Econ Save, Star Cruise, Pulau Indah, Sungai Pinang and West Port," he told a press conference at Bukit Aman.
He said the bus driver lodged a report on the matter.
"He said he was threatened by the crowd while some of the workers were assaulted.
"The group also broke the windows of the bus," he said. Full story...
