Air India pilot locked out of cockpit after visiting toilet!!!

An Air India passenger jet was forced to make an emergency landing after its pilot was locked out of his own cockpit after visiting the toilet.

The sight of the captain of a Delhi-Bangalore flight trying to get in through the cockpit door on Monday caused panic among passengers and his stranded co-pilot to touch down in Bhopal.

This latest scare is the second serious safety incident on an Air India jet in the last few weeks. Last month two pilots were suspended after they allowed a stewardess on a Bangkok to Delhi flight to sit in the captain's seat. While there she accidentally switched off the auto-pilot button while the captain was sleeping in business class. Four staff were suspended pending an investigation.

 In a statement, air India confirmed the incident but claimed the passengers were never at risk. "The commander had left the cockpit for a short while to visit the toilet. On returning, he found the door locked. Full story...
