Yarchagumba, the Himalayan viagra...

As early as 2000 B.C, men have used herbs and spices considered as aphrodisiacs. Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans would have diets made of aphrodisiac recipes to enhance their sexual desires. In 700 B.C., natives in the islands of Indonesia and India used nutmeg to enhance physical strength and sexual prowess.

At an altitude of above 4000 meters in the meadows of the Himalayas in Nepal, there is a rare type of fungi camouflaged in the grass. It lives in the cold and harsh climate of the highlands of Bhutan, Nepal, and Tibet. It grows in the winter as a parasite fungus feeding off caterpillars and sprouting out from a caterpillar carcass in the summer as the Himalayan Viagra. People call the herb yarsagumba or yarchagumba, which means “summer plant and winter insect.” More...
