British teacher in Goa sacked for complaining about school roof that fell on her...

Nearly a month after British tourist Katie Lee was hurt while teaching in a school in Saligao, the teacher now says that she is more hurt by the behaviour of the school authorities after the incident, than with the accident itself.

The 27-year-old sustained head injuries when the roof of Mater Dei Institution's classroom fell on her head on October 19. Lee, who came on a tourist visa to Goa, told TOI, "I was teaching at the school on a temporary basis. The students had gone out to play and I was in the class with another teacher, when a portion of the classroom's roof fell on my head." Stating that she was then taken to a hospital for treatment, Lee added, "Luckily, the injury was not too deep and I was discharged after receiving stitches on my head." More...
