The blogosphere’s anger at Google is misplaced...

It holds more information on us than the Stasi could ever have dreamed of and it plans to use an entire block in New York City as its headquarters. It all sounds pretty scary – but is Google as terrifying as it sounds?

A Tory MP, Robert Halfon, chaired a House of Commons debate on this very issue last week. He savaged Google for revealing the location of a refuge for battered wives and for using its Street View cars to harvest data over ordinary people’s wireless networks. A keen blogger on ConservativeHome website, Haflon has previously held forth on topics such as Whitehall spending, why we should support Israel and his sadness at the sale of Cadbury to an American company. More..

Don't miss:
  1. Google admits that Street View grabbed passwords...
  2. Google convicted of defaming French computer user...

  4. Google Street View is snooping on you!!!
  5. I wouldn’t trust Google with my personal info...
