Tony Blair and Robert Mugabe secretly forge close ties...

The Former UK Prime Minister has secretly hosted the Zimbabwean President in a bid to win lucrative trade deals for Britain, newly declassified documents revealed.

The documents published by daily Independent showed that the Labor-led government under Tony Blair and Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe forged close relationships after Blair took office.

The British premier wrote a personal letter to Mugabe on May 1997 thanking him for his role in promoting relations between the African continent and the UK, the daily said in a report. More...
