Malaysia's roadside "mamak" food stalls... (BBC video)

In an ongoing series, BBC News focuses on aspects of life in countries and cities around the world. What may seem ordinary and familiar to the people who live there, can be surprising to those who do not.

Most urban Malaysians spend their time indoors, but there is one place they will brave the heat and humidity for - the mamak stall.

These open-air food stalls located at most street corners sometimes operate 24 hours a day. Cheap food and drinks draw in crowds at all hours.  More + video...
