A jury in June convicted Ajay Kumar Dev of 46 forcible sexual assaults on the victim, which under California law required full and consecutive sentences, according to a news release from the Yolo County District Attorney's Office. The assaults occurred between 1999 and 2004.
Superior Court Judge Timothy J. Fall sentenced Dev to the upper term of eight years for each of the separate assaults, finding that the factors in aggravation, including violation of a position of trust, outweighed the defendant's lack of a prior record. More...
